That's all Daisy needs

The fifth release on material records documents is the exciting meeting of a crossover string trio and the Austrian guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel.
The highly international mix of four musicians who met in New York and now live in Vienna, Austria blurs the line between classical and improvised music. The recording consists of original compositions of the band members. One of those was recently chosen as a theme song in Luc Bondy’s upcoming movie.

"Jazz and Strings. Muthspiel meets Triology. Austrian guitarist extraordinaire Wolfgang Muthspiel, Seeker of Sounds on the borders between Pop, Avantgarde and Classical is touring with the String Trio Triology. On their new CD we witness grooving strings, shining pizzicati, some funny imitations, but also elegiac melodies. The violins of Aleksey Igudesman, Daisy Jopling and the cello of Tristan Schulze surround the alert playing of Muthspiel. But the strings too are no strangers to the blue note, as in the example of Bach counterpoint meeting a theme of Charlie Parker. In the ironic song "Doch wenn es Abend wird” the four musicians show "how it sounds when we sing”. Good enough for 4 part harmony, that is for sure. This album is a lot of fun."
